Thanks for asking, Danica. I just accepted growing up that all children got spanked, i didn't know any that didn't. It was like chores, no-one liked them but no-one thought they should be abolished.

As with most kids, i assume, spankings progressed as we got bigger and more able to tell right from wrong. Also as bad habits and vices set in which parents, church, and school tried to drive out, with the rod if necessary. Mine started with a few slaps of the open hand on my bare bottom, through the hairbrush (about 5 yo i think) to the strap and belt. I don't want to start an argument, but it was also assumed that boys did not get spanked after about 12 or 13 though they had plenty of other punishments they hated. The idea was that they needed to learn how to become heads of their own households one day, to guide and correct the females and children under their authority. A girl, on the other hand, is learning to follow in her mother's footsteps, to honor and obey her husband and other men in authority like the pastor. She is never too old for a spanking.

Anyway, i think i started getting the cane at about 15 yo at home, while still getting paddled at school. A paddling at school always meant a caning at home the same day. At first, my dad seemed tentative and careful with the cane, like he didn't want to hurt me, lol. But the canings too became harder as i got older and the maximum number of strokes went from six at 15 to 12 at 18. Now at 19 12 is the official minimum. If something merits a caning at my age, it merits at least 12 strokes.

How i feel about it depends when you ask me, lol. But except when i am just about to be caned or just got it, i feel it has helped me a lot. I see a lot of girls, including college girls, who had no real parental or school discipline, who grow up spoiled and entitled, and i just think a good paddling or caning on their bare bottoms would do them a world of good. I don't really know about their lives, i just know i need structure and discipline (as Mother-in-Law calls it) to thrive, be happy, and make my husband and those around me happy as well.
