Subject: Football at this level isn't worth it, IMHO....
In reply to: Tony 's message, "MAAC football even in more trouble?" on 09:08:49 01/16/03 Thu

And this is coming from a guy who supports the MAAC and loves football, both college and pro.

The great thing that basketball brings the football can't is the big time feeling at this level. All you need is 12 kids and a gym to compete in basketball. Get in a conference, win the tournament, and then you find yourself on CBS in the NCAA's playing a big boy.

What do you have foward to in MAAC Football? Is Siena even eligible for the division 1-AA playoffs?

Good post, Tony. I think by dropping football other worthy sports would have more money. This would especially help the women's teams... i.e. basketball

Mike
