Iona was up by as many as 11 in the second half and Canisius hung in there. Dux is something. I believe he had 31 points. MacDonald made great use of the clock in the last few minutes, but Iona began making free throws.

A lot of young mistakes on Iona's part. Would play hard, make steals and then turn the ball over. The good thing that I see is that these kids do not give up. Last year I believe that Iona would have lost this game (and probably Fordham, also).

I'll say this, I had the opportunity to speak with Marvin McCullough at Madison Square Garden after the upset of UNC. Someone asked him if he was happy that he chose Iona and he said that he wouldn't be (there) if he wasn't. I said to him that this team could be something if the freshmen stay together and stay for four years. I was heartened to hear him respond ". . . that's what we intend to do". There was something about the way he said "we" that gave hope of brighter days to come for this Iona alum.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Friday's game with the Saints. Would love to bring back the times when we could refer to the Pepsi as Mulcahy North :-) Hoping that Iona can keep it close and maybe get the upset. More importantly, a good game with no injuries for either team.

Best wishes, Saints.

Oh, MTS -- Go Raiders!

Go Gaels!
