Subject: Paying Teachers

I don't mean to hog the Board. I was in PNG almost three years ago as a teacher. Even at that time, I read often in the newspaper that teachers were not getting paid.

Does it not have to be a FIRST PRIORITY to pay your teachers? Talk about bad for morale. I was a volunteer, so that was not an issue for me, and the school I was at paid the teachers on a timely basis.

The question is, what procedure could be followed to see that the teachers are paid?

This posting is not about the low pay of teachers. That is a separate issue. This is about not paying them at all.
