CLICK HERE FOR COMMENT FROM EX-COLLEAGUE in the National. I would concur with the idea of prioritizing the needs of the school and budgeting appropriately. I don't know whether school uniform costs could have been a saving that would be significant to keep the students fed for the duration of exam weeks or end of the year for the whole school. I guess in future budgeting for the schools, school administrators should have contingency component to take care of unforeseen expenses. Students and teachers shouldn't be asked to go out on fund raising drive to help maintain the academic year. Administrators should do their job to make sure that the schools have resources to keep the school year going to its proper conclusion. We need school administrators with some knowledge of managing resources use and income generation. I guess it is becoming clear every year that public funding will no longer be sufficient to maintain educational services. So administrators will need to create ways of generating extra revenue to supplement the public grants to schools.
