You're definitely making a persuasive case. I'll be going to Missouri in August for the Missouri State Fair. St. Joseph isn't too far out of the way from I-35 which is the highway I'd be taking to and from so I'll see if I can find the time to squeeze in a visit.

Interestingly, I set one of my fiction stories at a restaurant in St. Joseph, MO, several years ago. It was one of the last college towns in the country without a smoking ban in bars and restaurants.
