Louise, you've been posting on various boards for over a decade, telling us that you're a pensioner. Why on earth would someone that age still even be thinking about such things even if you had been physically abused by your parents? If it wasn't so 'egregious', then what is the issue?

You speak here of resentment regarding other aspects of your childhood. Is this a personal reason for your posting or are you using this as a decoy maneuver to encourage the idea that 'oh, spanking isn't so bad, there are worse things that parents can do'. Not very subtle.

Bodack is another poster of that ilk. Neglect, certainly, Bodack, and lack of encouragement, as you've spoken of before. All bad parenting, yes. None are rationalizations for assault.

And our German friend, for years on end
has found a way to rationalize away
her mother's fascism - how apropos
for a culture who's whole gift is 'No!'

Well, the age appears correct, given your demographic. I have seen 'Louise Vancisic' appear on threads of long defunct spanking chats on VOY dating back to at least 2019 if not 2016. Same with 'Alfred22'.

Not that this alone is of any great import. My question was rather why would someone of your age be posting at all and interested in 'stimulating discussion' amongst groups mainly populated by false posters, trolls, and despicable voyeurs?

Certainly, I agree that your childhood context lent itself to violence in the home, so perhaps you are yet engaged in rationalizing these experiences; I am impressed, however, that you did not repeat your own parents' errors. Given that, why defend such actions at all?
