The school of my imagination would be high school level (14-17), girls only, female staff only. Admission would be limited those with a track record of benefiting from physical discipline. That means (a) experience of corporal punishment either at home or at previous school, (b) solid academic, artistic and athletic performance, (c) appreciation of discipline ("no pain no gain" mindset).

These are necessary because at the school of my imagination corporal punishment would not be the final resort. It would be common, in the open and simply a tough part of life. Rules and standards would be strict enough to make sure that few girls could escape punishment for a full term, and even these few would benefit from the general atmosphere of discipline.

They'll get used to it, they'll understand its mysteries on a deeper level and many years later they'll meet again and remember the pain, the tears and the companionship of these few harsh years that shaped them into the tough and confident women they became.

Bianca, delightful idea. The constant threat/action of spankings would keep us girls on our toes! And the immense shame of being bare bottom spanked in front of the other students would be balanced by the embarrassing pleasure of watching other girls get spanked.
We’d know each teachers' willingness to spank us and compare notes on how each of them liked to spank us, much like our teachers would talk about how different girls reacted to being spanked.
In your scenario, are you more likely to be a student or teacher?

We'd be very much on our toes to keep our bottoms out of harm's way as much as possible, but it would happen too often to be ashamed or embarrassed about it.
