I don't think I've shared this before, but I was horrible student until high school, and got plenty of spankings because of it. Most of it came from a lack of trying, not a lack of capability, but I always tried to be a bit of a sneak. One time I got caught, because I had to get my parent's signature on a piece of paper that listed all of my missing assignments. I was too scared to do that, so I forged the signature myself. But, at 11/12 my signature forging skills weren't great, so I was obviously caught. My teacher called home, and you can bet I got the butt blistering of a lifetime. Made it hard to sit and do my homework! Pretend you are my mom or my dad in that scenario. How would I have been spanked in our home? Would I get any extra punishments? You apparently had no respect for your parents. This would take time to work out, one big spanking would not do the trick.

But we did spank for school misbehavior (and in this case disrespect and dishonesty). Our kids went to Catholic school, which issued demerits. When we were notified one of ours had five, this earned them a spanking. We were also pretty well plugged into what what was going on at school, which could result in some type of home disciplinary action.

When they do that then they get a warning and if they continue, then my paddle does the talking on their bare bottoms.

Warnings would be for fighting with a sibling, arguing with me, attitude, and minor disobedience. There are things they do that is an automatic spanking and no warning.
