Hey Steph, spanking us teens was very much a live option. Parents believed most things should be dealt with by talking with teens. But if my behaviour was either repeated or serious, a hiding was a very real possibility.

To spank us boys, Dad used a yardstick and made me bend over the back of the seat. My hands had to be either palms on the seat or holding the arms to keep them out the way.

The aspect of the spankings that varied a lot was the number of whacks, which varied on the seriousness of the conduct. If it was on lower end of the scale, a few hits (maybe 4-6) was enough. But if it was very serious then the number went way up.

Not always in bedroom and once by dad on the kitchen floor. Don't ask why he did not bring me to a chair. It just happened that way. Then 20 or so spanks. Spanked infrequent. Last spanking at 13 and threatened once by mom at 15.
