Yes indeed, the Amish have it right when it comes to spanking, in my opinion! And to do it earlier on so you don't have to do it as frequently later on.

It sounds like we have similar sorts of timelines with our kids and when to start in general! I started with a hard but light wooden spoon for both of ours already, but when Caroline turns maybe 7-8 we may indeed switch to something a little bigger, too. I have found that as Caroline has gotten older her spankings have needed to get a little longer, too. But I am sure that will be the case for Aidan, too.
