Right up until we turned 18. At 22 I married a Marine (like my dad was) and he has two wonderful kids, Randy and Ramona. I knew and accepted that my husband spanked them but I never took any part in their spankings (aside from honestly reporting their wrong doing when necessary) and I made myself scarce whenever spankings took place so as not to embarrass the kids and because I felt so sorry for them as I know what it feels like to be spanked. Six months ago my husband was deployed and we moved off-base into my parents’. house. It only took a few days before mom and dad began spanking 12-yr-old Randy and 13-year-old Ramona. It’s been awful because my parents basically insist that I witness the kids being spanked. It’s very embarrassing for them and me and I get flashbacks to my own spankings when I see it happen. My palms get damp, my face turns red, I have that tummy-twisted feeling I always got when my sister or I were spanked. Technically, all their spankings are deserved but I hate how embarrassed they are being bare bottom spanked by their step-grandparents and having me watch the whole thing. Randy and Ramona beg not to have their underpants/panties pulled down (just like I did) and I cry and cringe at memories of my own spankings with dad’s hard hand or mom’s wicked hairbrush (the same one she spanked us with) make them kick and scream just like I did. They have both been spanked several times and worse a few times when my sister was also present to see their spankings. It really bothers me when she has been there making it much more embarrassing for the kids. Sis sat next to me on the couch once when they both got spanked. When Ramona came off dad’s lap bawling and dancing my sister nudged me and whispered, “That brings back memories, right?” It made me mad she was so casual about it and worse when mom took Randy’s underpants down my sis giggled, “That’s different!” meaning the boy’s penis was exposed. My husband trusts my parents and he knows I’d never spank the kids so I don’t really have anyone who understands how scary/embarrassing it is for me when spankings take place so it’s like revisiting all the spankings I got growing up. I guess I’m just super sensitive about spankings. Your concern seems to be more about you, than the stepchildren.With your husband temporarily absent, it seems you should have some role in the discipline of your stepchildren. Your parents are willing to do the actual spankings for you, the least you can do is provide support by witnessing, and cope with your personal feelings. But do try to also remember how those spankings you hated, helped make you the decent person you are today.

It is your duty to witness the spanking your parents are disciplining your stepchildren in loco parentis for your husband. Ideally you should be giving the spankings. At the very least you need to be present to show solidarity with your husband. Swallow the "flashbacks" and do this for the welfare of the children and your family..
