I have been wondering why some parents spank harder than others.

For example, when I was spanked growing my dad spanked with his hand over my pants, I never had my pants lowered and spanked over my underwear or bare bottom. I know some parents spank over underwear or bare bottom.

I think a spanking should at least be given over the underwear, because it would sting more, that getting spanked over the pants (jeans).

How was a spanking in your home?

Hey Cory my Dad dealt with me and my brothers the same way. Spanked us pants up, both with his hand when i was younger then smacking me mostly with a yardstick in tween/teen years.

Dad whacked real hard, and i guess allowed pants to stay up because he knew full well the smacks were plenty hard enough already.

Some parents use embarrasment as part of making spankings work, and take pants down for this reason. With me it was solely the pain i hated, and Dad's main aim was to whack hard and make it hurt

At home, where at least 90% of my spankings take place, it's always bare bottom. These days, probably due to my age, I never get those public seats over pants. Looking back, those hurt so little they seem like they are in a different dimension from a proper spanking.

Any number of reasons. Main one being that some parents are just stricter than others. Likely to be that way if they themselves were raised by strict parents.

All of my actual spankings (warnings not included) were bare butt growing up. The state of dress was the same, the only difference was what I got spanked with, how hard each spank was, and how long it lasted.
