It's always helpful to hear the 'other side' - and thanks for a measured response.

Clearly, the SmithFamily upgrades pre-date Chris's FAQ.

Presumably, the upgrades use information on the Takky site, which request no commercial use.

Frankly, the VGA mod can't be accomplished only using the wiring loom - all altering the loom can do is to alter the sense wire inputs.

However, this is primarily a pre-emptive strike to ask that we stick to facts and opinions expressed with courtesy and moderation in this thread. After all, the Takky request is a request, and has no legal force. So there's no issue of illegality.

FWIW, my personal opinion is that the SmithFamily offering does allow the non-techies to enter the wonderfuil world of PCCs, and that the prices they make will not make anyone rich. So, I can't get steamed up about it. I did feel that some PCCs they were selling at one stage were rather under-specced (80MHz PPC boards etc etc), but that's again a personal opinion.

Stuart.
