This is the first post I have made to this board at all . .

I just bought my CC and plan on upgrading it full tilt. I have been really impressed by the comraderie among CC "hackers" and the amount of assistance everyone is willing to lend.

But it is a joke to assume that you can copyright a procedure like upgrading an old Mac. If you came up with an idea and posted it here, you did it because you knew others were going to do it and learn from it.

Now, if someone starts making a million dollars a year from upgrading CC's, you might have a claim to a highly-specialized procedure that you "invented," but only if you have it patented. Otherwise, anybody who is upgrading CC's for a living is NOT making a decent salary. So it's petty to try and legally squeeze a few dollars (how many of those can you actually do in a month??) just to have a small level of "personal satisfaction."

As the "inventor" you could NEVER make enough money off of people using "your" procedure or trick to make it worth pursuing legally.

So, let's all just do this for the fun of it and leave greed out of it!
