Subject: OT - Soldering

I know this is slightly off topic but I am having a heck of a time.

Can anyone give me hints and tips for electrical soldering?

I have electrical solder, an iron and flux. I am trying to solder new 1.5a bulbs to the wire that the old ones used to be crimped to.

The solder just rolls off no matter what I do.
