I custom made a simple tool to cut the screen filler piece. Basically it was a 40cm wooden arm with a cutting bit on the end. I rotated the arm repeatedly about 30 degrees on a piece of plastic, and over time it cut a perfect arch clean through. I then cut and glued 2 sections of this arch within the screen gaps.

The DVD slot was rough cut with a power saw, then hand filed to its present width. That first cut was stressful- it had to be exact. I checked my measurements at least five times and luckily the cut was right on. The finger opening was also carefully hand filed, and a section of a 630's floppy slot was glued in behind it to give it that rounded depth.

As for the cost of my panel...I'm going to keep that to myself. It cost me a lot- I had to buy a Panasonic cf-m32 on ebay and remove the screen. The same screen can be found in the older (and significantly cheaper) Panasonic cf-m31. They're rare, but patience and persistence will save you a lot of money.
