Thanks for excellent explanations. And for the screen costs - I was just wandering if it's worth for me going after one right now. But after information you gave me - I think I'll better do it with my 640x480 LCD first - then gradually upgrade later.

BTW, the DigitalView LCD controller doubled in price after adding all those bits and pieces you need for it and it was rather costly. Mine costed me 150 british pounds and this was among the cheapest ones. It's also quite small.

Another piece of information (for the other people) - DigitalView contacted me and gave me the information about their DVI/DFP LCD controllers.
At the moment they have DVI-1280 controller only which supports very limited number of panels due to limited minimal resolution. But they said that in July they going to release a new version - DVI-1024 which will support a broad set of LCDs from various manufacturers and won't have any minimal limits on resolution. DVI-1024 is practically the same board as DVI-1280 but with a different chipset.

The advantages of these boards: they are small and low cost (like in UK - 85 pounds per board). They also do not have quality loss in converting analogue VGA signal back to digital. Disadvantages - they do require DVI/DFP graphics card.

That's it - just wanted to share this info with everyone.
