Subject: A few follow-up questions
In reply to: Chris Lawson 's message, "Re: Taking the PCC Plunge - Help!" on 08:24:19 10/11/01 Thu

Thanks for the guidance and support thus far. I have a few follow-up questions regarding the upgrade:

1. I've done the 640x480 mod using your (Chris) method. Do I connect S19 to S20 on the connector and leave S21 empty as Takky suggests or is there a different set of instructions since I used your screen mod method?

2. The # of HDD power supply cables is diff't. The 5400 connector only has 4 wires (black, brown, yellow, red) connecting the 5400 analog connector to some sort of plastic adapter/splitter mid-way on the wiring (for internal cd-rom power maybe?). The wiring to the 5400 connector itself has 6 wires (yellow, brown, black, white, red, red in that order top to bottom). The original CC HDD wiring only has 5 wires (red, red, black, brown, yellow) connected to the analog connector. The CC wiring is straight-forward with only the plastic HDD connector on the end an no sort of adaptor in the middle like the 5400 wiring, which has me confused.

That was clear as mud -- hope it makes sense. Which wires do I connect to the analog connector? Which wires do I connect to the 5400 connector?

3. Is it enough to just cut the FDD wire #9 in the middle (while leaving it connected at both ends) or do I need to remove it entirely?

Thanks again :)
