The diodes are almost certainly *not* the problem - IIRC, those same two diodes are in rather dodgy shape on one of mine as well ;)

The blue area in the corner is indicative of a degaussing problem; is your degaussing coil properly plugged in and powering up when the tube is powered on? You should hear kind of a transformer-sounding hum with a sort of "thunk" sound right when it comes on.

If the problem doesn't lie on the CRT-end PCB, I'd try tracing the wires from that board back to the main analogue board and seeing if there are any bad joints there. Measuring resistance (shouldn't be more than a few milliohms) across the joints and CRT neck connections might not be a bad idea either.
