Are you sure it's not the 'CC startiup gotcha'?

To start a CC, you must both switch it on at the back and press the power key on the keyboard. Without a logic board plugged in, the PSU will be 'on'. The logic board will take it low, and give the impression of a dead machine until a keyboard is plugged in and the power key depressed. Worth a check!

(I bought a CC really cheaply last week, because the seller, without a keyboard, assumed the CC he was selling was dead. He said it was. I bought it on that basis. :-) )
