This is quite a coinsidence- I just attempted the installation of a 6500 PSU last week...

And whatever my plastic surgery skills are they weren't up to the job. For one thing, this PSU is huge. It just will not fit unless you remove the CRT. The next problem you'll face is ventilation- the vent holes and fan must not be up against any surface or the unit will overheat. I placed mine horizontally along the left side of the case, and had to remove the pass-through power socket to make room for the CC's cooling fan (it's a very tight fit).

And after all that work, the power supply just wouldn't function. I hooked up the ADB lines and all power connectors, and the PSU would refuse to power on. The power relays would click on for a second, then click off. Very irritating. I think somebody sold me a broken PSU.
