There is a school in New Zealand that is known for its harsh discipline and sexual abuse.

Dilworth was still caning boys bare bottom in the 1970s. There were other punishments such as sitting bare bottom on a radiator heater and cold baths (lay in a cold bath, then stand up all the windows are open, then lay back down in the cold bath).

I haven't heard of other NZ schools that caned bare bottom but two that added extra pain. One school had boys bend over with head underneath a basin, so that when caned would lift their head up and hit it on the basin. And another where the boy had his head between the railings of a banister and when caned would hit his head.
