Date Posted: 15:00:43 12/29/25 Mon In reply to: Paul1978 's message, "Trouble at School = Big trouble at home" on 14:04:12 12/03/25 Wed To update on this from earlier in the month. Given the seriousness of the situation - breaking several school rules, endangering himself by leaving school property, deliberately lying about it and subsequently letting down teammates to whom he made a commitment, I decided to not take this lying down. Thinking back to my youth, I recalled a similar situation for which my parents doled out what could not be described as anything other than a life-changing spanking. My son did not need to be told a spanking was coming when I picked him and his sister up from school. He was told this would be a memorable one. Upon arriving home he was disrobed and I put him in corner time in the nook until everyone else arrived home. I wanted to send a message to the other 3 so this hopefully will not have to be repeated with any of them. Once everyone was home and settled, everyone gathered in the family room where my son was made to explain what he did and why it was wrong. A little help from his mother and I helped clarify. After retrieving and returning with the paddle, I took him across my lap and administered the longest and hardest spanking I have ever given, something akin to what I received growing up. After corner time, which lasted about 40 or so minutes until dinner was ready, he was informed that I would be administering a hand spanking each morning before school. Those were given each morning, before school, in the kitchen. Due to condensed schedule in the morning, I decided corner time would be served each day upon arriving home from school. While this might seem harsh, I believe it was effective. Without being told, he chose to stand up before his teammates and apologize for his actions which cost his participation in two games. Since then, all of the children have been ideally behaved and no spankings have been given in our house in nearly a month, which by best guess has to be a record.
