Most usually, churches have spare rooms (empty rooms) and they call them "crying rooms", so that if families bring the small babies, and the small babies can't stop crying (which is natural), someone takes the small baby into the crying room to avoid disrupting the service. But some parents also convert "crying room" into "spanking room", basically any kids that disrupt the service and are old enough to know better, get more of a sore bottom than they were expecting.
