Hey Liam, welcome to the forum!

The thing of calling all adults Sir or Ma'am is more of an American thing. Altho in my school in England we are supposed to call teachers that.

In general parents make the rules. So if you call their rules dumb then that's disrespectful. And refusing to do something that your parents told you to do is disobedience. And parents that spank, very often spank just for disrespect or spank just for disobedience. So both together is a definite spanking!

Some really strict parents would spank even for just forgetting to call an adult sir or ma'am. Spankings for doing something accidentally or for forgetting, are more controversial than spankings for deliberate disobedience or deliberate disrespect.

My parents have spanked me plenty of times for things that I've done accidentally. But deliberate disobedience or disrespect gets me a much bigger spanking. Usually with a mouth soaping as well. My stepdad is an expert at giving belt spankings.

I think all boys sometimes "talk back" or deliberately disobey sometimes after they're about 12 or so. But my stepdad spanks very hard and he's totally spanked all the disrespect out of me. I don't dare ever talk back any more. cos I know what the belt will do to my behind.

Another thing my parents say is that it doesn't matter whether something is "fair". There's an annoying parental saying that if we already know what the rules are and what happens if we break them, then if we get spanked for it it's our choice to get spanked.

And parents like us to have "good manners" and they're willing to spank good manners into us if necessary.

Even if it maybe doesn't make sense :)
