Our firewood is delivered already seasoned, cut and split. They dump it in a pile and I stack it by the patio. We also have a fire pit at the shore of the lake which we use in the summer. I enjoy having a fire as much as dad and don't really mind the little bit of work. Sleepovers in the summer almost always involve setting up a tent near the firepit.
You mentioned in another thread you have never gotten a hand spanking. It's the same here. Dad is very careful with his hands being a surgeon. When I was little, he used a ping pong paddle until upgrading to the bigger game paddle and finally the belt a few years ago.
