Exactly right Jerry, and just to prove the point, here is their actually really real registered Voy account:

I can't find an easy way to show a list of comments that account has made, but suffice to say there's a lot of promotional guff about how "selecting the ideal parrot and exotic bird for your home is a joyful and rewarding experience".

Alf recently had to turn on the Captcha things *even for registered users* after a particularly persistent invasion of Voy-registered parrot farmers here.

Reddit do something like this; "forum is not actively moderated" is seen as justification for permanently banning a Reddit forum, and I think this might even be automated.

Getting back to Voy, and in the interests of accuracy, it turns out that Voy have not had a change of policy; forum owners are not forced to make commenters create an account or enter an email address, these are still options configured by the forum owner.
