To all you guys out there: The important question here is not how often you get spanked but rather do you both misbehave in the same way and you get spanked and they don't? Otherwise it leaves open the possibility that, as boys, you are more active and just misbehave more often than your sisters and that's why you get spanked more often.

Also, there is the question of misbehavior that is different between you two. For example, if you get mad at your parents does she stamp her feet while you call your mother a bad name? Your parents might not classify both behaviors under the category "disrespect" earning you both a spanking, but consider foot stamping the lesser of two evils, giving your sister a pass while you get a red butt. Maybe boys' misbehavior irritates parents more than girls'?

Then there's the question of differential responses to punishment. Do girls respond to non corporal punishment while you ignore it? Maybe your sisters change their bad behavior if your parents merely look sharply at them while you need a sting in the rear? Also, do your sisters feel pain the same as you do? Maybe a spanking hurts girls more than boys and so they try to avoid getting one while you are more willing to risk it?

The bare bottom line here is that the mere number of spankings boys get is not the deciding factor here but your differential behaviors. If you both stamp your feet and you get spanked for it and your sisters don't then we've got a problem. Parents in this case are thinking boys need firmer discipline than girls.

This is worth a discussion here. I'm out of it at this point because I have no sisters. Lucky me!
