 Well, it was a long time coming - a lifetime as a matter of fact - but my childhood is over. Today I am 18, an adult (in the legal sense at least). What a ride it was! This morning I got to make my first adult decision: I had a fever Monday and yesterday and stayed home from school. It broke last night and my temp is back to normal. My mom let me decide if I wanted to return to school today or wait another day to fully recover. I decided to wait to make sure I wasn't still infective. Didn't want to be known as typhoid Jerry. Maybe that was self-serving in that I got another day off, but then I had to forgo being with my friends and classmates on my one and only 18th birthday. But I will be good to go for my party this Saturday - wouldn’t want to miss that!!!

Funny, I don't feel any different. Maybe it sneaks up on you.
