I would like to comment on your parents' decision to use mouth soaping as a general adjunct to spanking. My mom (not my dad who is much more tolerant of bad language) washes out my mouth with soap only for using bad language. Even then it takes a pretty bad word (an F-bomb will do it) to trigger a mouth soaping. It's been a couple of years since I had my last one - a minor miracle given the prevalence of cussing today. I'm pretty proud of my achievement - congratulations will be cheerfully accepted. My mom justifies mouth soaping with the oh-too-cutesy baby phrase "You have a dirty mouth, we have to wash it out". That makes mouth soaping an appropriate punishment for swearing. If push comes to shove, I suppose that could be extended to lying if lying is considered having a dirty mouth, too. However, washing out a mouth for general disobedience involving no swearing seems, to me, just a way to cause pain and suffering that would be better served by a longer and harder bare bottom spanking with, maybe a more painful implement.
