I'm Dani, 19yo. I get punished by my mom at home and since a few years now, mom and I agreed that it was better if before every punishment, she secured my arms and legs for my own safety and her comfort.
For my safety because that way I can't try to protect myself and get hit on my hands or my feet by accident, and her comfort because as I grew up I got stronger and it was getting hard for her to hold me down when I squirmed and of course, I was too heavy to put me over her lap.

This way she can set me in any position she pleases and if at first I felt quite distressed and helpless, today it helps me endure better my punishments as I can't move at all and there is nothing I can do. Besides, she always use improvised but very soft items so I can stay tied for a very long time without damaging my skin with friction.

I also needed to ask if it's common to be restrained to maintain position while being punished.
I've been looking around the forum and I did find some stories mentioning restraining but nothing more.

Do you get restrained in some way before your punishment or, as a parent, do you use restraining?
If yes, is it for safety reasons, comfort reasons, both or any other particular reason?
What items and what positions do you use for that?
