Yes, she had warned me beforehand that the kitchen had been mopped.

Our landline phone was in the kitchen and I ran into the kitchen to answer it, forgetting that the floor was still wet.

I am torn on if I deserved that spanking or not. On the one hand, yes it was dangerous for me to run into the kitchen and a spanking was appropriate. On the other, I fell and busted my knee on the base board, so I was already injured and it could be said that my injury was punishment enough.

However, I was a child and it wasn’t my choice to make!
