The Mom of my best friend became a counselor at a 5-8 Middle School in my town. She invited me to visit and take a tour.

She showed me the discipline room where sometimes she was a same sex witness when girls were to be paddled just like your school requires. They had green hand outlines on the wall. They didn't have prayer time because it was a tax supported school but they did start each day with the Lord's Prayer in the morning.

They usually gave three spanks with the student bending way over because the hand outlines were really low and to get their hands flat on the green outline, they ended up in a perfect position for a flat and safe paddle lick.

She and the Principal were very proud of the fact that most students chose the paddle. They could choose to be immediately suspended. That choice involved their guardian or parent to retrieve them immediately. Taking the paddle licks the first time, allowed them to keep it between them and the school. A second offense did involve a note home but there were hardly any repeaters.

The prayer time at your school is a good idea and a strength of a Christian school. After their swats are they allowed to wash away their tears in the restroom?
