With my 9 year old son Luke, I have discovered that when he truly acknowledges guilt for an action that warrants a spanking (perhaps half the time), he is fully cooperative and pulls his pants down without being asked. Other times, he'll hesitate and ask if he really has to be spanked, etc. and there is a delay before he acquiesces and drops his pants when told to do so. Punishment is the same under both circumstances, twenty smacks with a hairbrush on the bare buttocks, but the times he has issues accepting guilt, the affair takes more time.
