Sweetie, I didn't think you were judging me at all. You and I come from totally different backgrounds and from what you have told me before, different decades. So I can understand why you have questions like that. Some of the things you talk about are a little strange to me. Like being in a boarding school or about you and your best friend bathing together. I mean the only boy I ever took a bath with as a kid was my little brother. The last time that happened, I was almost six and he was four. I bathed with my sister, with my Cousin Cassie, and with friends like Ramona and Allison, plus showering with other girls in the locker room at School, but never with a male friend or even my male cousins.

My parents are very interesting people, and even though they could be strict when they had to be, they weren't rigid. If Granny was raising me, she would have probably beat me half to death if I even thought about having a boy in my room, or being alone with a boy for that matter. Momma and Aunt Connie, would literally have to sneak out to be with a boy and would always get a whippin' with a switch for it when they got home. The only dates they were allowed to go on had to be chaperoned until they were eighteen. As strict as my Momma could be, she was never as bad as Granny. She refused to be that hard on her own kids. Aunt Connie, sometimes can be a little more strict than Momma but nowhere near as bad as Granny.

As far as me having boys in my room, I'd say Mark was the only one, but Ramona and I had Mark and Jeff in there a couple of times. But we behaved ourselves. I left the door open so Momma or Daddy could peek in to check on us. Daddy would sometimes just to tease stick his head in and saying "Y'all behaving?" and we'd all say "Yes sir." then he'd chuckle and say, "Good I don't wanna have to get the shotgun" But they trusted us and we didn't give them a reason not to.

The South has a reputation and maybe it's deserved. Folks who "ain't from around here" tend to think we're nothing but a bunch of ignorant, barefoot, beer drinkin' rednecks who drive around in four wheel drives with Country Music blasting and rebel flags hanging out the back of them and truthfully, there are some people here like that. But we all aren't like that. Where I live, we have nice neighborhoods. Some nice restaurants, malls, parks and so forth. Also, we're about an hour or so away from the Gulf. So we can go to some beautiful beaches. We have beautiful forests here, and major cities where you can find just about anything you want. We have our problems here, the worst being Tornado Season which we have right now and Hurricane Season in the fall. So the weather is really unpredictable and can get pretty rough. I've lived here all my life and while I've had the opportunity to travel, because I love to explore, I've never wanted to live anywhere else.

I haven't watched the Duggars, or any other "Reality" TV if that's what they are. I tried to watch Duck Dynasty once, and barely made it through one episode of that mess. I'm more in tune to old movies and tv shows from the sixties through the eighties. Than I am what's on the tube these days. Our kids watch the newer stuff, but we keep an eye on what they watch, because we're the parents and that's part of the job.

I don't usually talk much about my kids because of the rules of this Forum and I've seen some pretty sketchy characters on the Internet, But since you asked. I have three children, two sons and a daughter. My oldest son is thirteen, my daughter is eleven and my youngest son is nine. So none of them are dating age yet. My oldest is starting to get interested in girls, but still more interested in hanging out with other boys, biking, playing sports and of course video games. My daughter is a little like me, so she has a lot of tomboy in her, but she still prefers the company of girls. But she is starting to develop a little bit of an interest in boys now. She is really cute and outgoing and developing way too early if you know what I mean. She's an early bloomer like me, so I'm probably gonna have a lot of trouble with her... I'm just kidding. My youngest son is a little clown and is always laughing and joking and has both boy and girl friends. Since none of them are dating age yet, I still have a little time to decide whether or not I will trust them to entertain whoever they are dating in their room with them. I can say this with all confidence. I will trust them until they give me a reason to not trust them.

Well hon, I hope that answers any questions you might have. If you have more you know you can always ask. Have a good night.
