The longest I ever had to wait was about a day and a half.

I used to go to a summer camp for a week every year that was about 8 hours away from home. One year there was a kid there that was a bully. One day at lunch he was talking smack and I finally had enough and I whacked him with the lunch tray. I was expelled from camp and they called mom to come pick me up.
I talked to her on the phone and gave her my side of the story. I was honest, but my mom and dad had a rule that I could fight back if somebody attached me but I could never start a fight. She said “you do know I have to give a punishment” which I knew meant a spanking.

Mom drove down and picked me up and it was late enough by then we got a hotel room to sleep before driving home in the morning. It was an awkward drive because she was more disappointed than angry. I was hoping she would either forget or change her mind but I wasn’t that lucky. I got spanked as soon as we got home.
