It depended on the infraction. If we got detention we would be sent to bed 30min earlier for a full week but if we got paddled then we would get it doubled from both our folks on our bare bottom with a large wooden paddle. It also depended on who was doing the paddlings at school. There were 4 people allowed to do it, 2 male and 2 female. The facilitators were not allowed to paddle bare bottom so we had to wear what resembled yoga pants but were as thin as fishnet and it made the sound of wood on flesh so technically we were pretty much bare bottomed.

One of the females was very strict, she was the 2nd hardest hitter of the 4 and she never gave less then 8 hits. One time i had a choice and i chose the paddling and she was the one paddling me. I got 10 hits from here which meant both my folks gave me 20each. My butt was sore for close to a week but it was still worth it as i didnt lose a half hour on my bedtime.

It all depends on circumstances and i know not everyone is the same.
