One strong memory I have of my childhood is not one of my own spankings, but one given to my sister.

As the youngest of three children, I was the last to be introduced to dad’s belt. I remember one evening, when I was maybe six or seven, my mother coming into my room and explaining that my sister had badly misbehaved and she was to be spanked with a belt. Mom sat in the room with me while my sister was spanked across the hall, and I still remember how loudly she cried!

Momma told me that once I got a little older, if I misbehaved badly enough, I would also be spanked with a belt. I remember thinking that I would never let that happen! I tried to be on my best behavior for quite awhile, trying to avoid a session with dad’s belt.

Despite my best efforts, I did eventually get to experience the belt for myself.
