When I was growing up, the typical spanking was done in the living room. Momma or Daddy, depending on who was doing the spanking, would be sitting in their chair in the living room, lecturing you about what you did and giving you a chance to explain yourself. Then if it was decided to give you the spanking, after the lecture you were told to pull your pants down, or pull your panties/underwear down, and turn over their knee. The spanking started once your bottom was bare and in position. Momma did most of the spanking and sometimes would continue to fuss at you as she spanked you. Daddy on the other hand, once the spanking started usually didn't say anything. Once the spanking was over and you got off their lap, you could pull your pants back up whenever you were ready and the punishment was over, no corner time or anything like that. Sometimes we kids didn't pull our pants up right away, because we were too busy rubbing our red little butts and crying. When that happened, sometimes we would be told to pull our pants up. I usually went to my bedroom after a spanking, to check out the "damage" and have a good cry. More often than not, Momma or Daddy would come back to my room to check on me and talk with me some more. The matter was usually settled at that point and they would give hugs or sometimes I would cry on their shoulder a bit and get it out of my system.

There were a few times when I was in trouble, after being told to pull my pants down, I'd be standing, fully exposed and still trying to beg my way out of the spanking. Then would finally give in and lay across their lap. As I got into my teens, I usually just bared myself, lay across their lap, then after the spanking, immediately pulled at least my panties back up. Sometimes I would be crying with my hands down the back of my pants rubbing my butt afterward.
