My parents would have been strict by today’s standards but were normal loving parents by 1960s standards every one I knew got spanked just like I did . My parents were less strict on certain things during school vacations and weekends we could go out and play and be home for supper so we played games in the neighborhood we played on playground equipment that would be unsafe today yes I got a broken arm or two falling off the monkey bars or out of the tree I was climbing . I remember getting a spanking and going right back to play crying . My grandparents thought my parents were to lenient with us so the time matters
