I have been meaning to reply to you for weeks, but it took so long to truly process the eyewitness account you gave me. It is a very powerful thing to read.

Your mother's decision to spank your bare bottoms in a public store in front of strangers particularly in the case of Carmen, a 13 year old girl, indicates that this punishment was equally about humiliation as it was about pain, if not more so. It is awe inspiring yet disturbing to me that exposure in front of witnesses for the purpose of measured embarrassment this was your mom's honest deliberate intention. I cannot imagine a punishment of this type being enforced in public in present day. It must have been dreadful waiting there on the stairwell, but I'm sure you all wished that's where the spanking took place.

Instead, you were marched to a public spot and despite the presence of onlookers, not even the teenager was allowed to keep underpants on. I have a feeling Carmen was also embarrassed from being spanked over the knee by hand like a little kid at her age, especially to the point of kicking and crying real tears in front of everyone. I wonder if there was any audible or visible reaction from the crowd when she took down her panties and fully revealed her naked lower half. I'm sure even back then this would have been considered a rare sight to see.

This wouldn't be a punishment I would support for almost any child but for her I'm willing to make an exception because of the time she switched your bare bottom. That is an act that you could argue warrants a truly shameful punishment so this really worked out as poetic justice. I feel bad for you and the rest of the boys though, but hey you survived.
