The sting of a switch is incredible. It's not fun at all (an understatement!).

My dad picked the switches. There wasn't a designated switch tree, but there was a particular stand of trees where he harvested the switches.

When suitable switches couldn't be found (e.g., during winter), he spanked me with his hand when I was younger and with a belt starting around age 11.
