My parents was very strict, but also very loving and caring. I didn't (usually) fear them growing up, quite the opposite. My mom in particular, always made me feel safe and loved. However, she could sometimes be very upset, and spank or yell impulsively, which could be scary. Looking back on it now, it's a bit funny, and understandable. She was mostly strict with what movies i could see, screentime, video games, etc.

I was mostly spanked for not doing chores, keeping secrets, curfew, and such. Sometimes things related to my phone. After 14, i wasn't spanked, but got my electronic devices taken away or grounded. I never really tried to talk my way out of a spanking, it would be hopeless anyways. Luckily for me, my mom didn't spank that hard. It made me cry, but i could take it, and i was always comforted afterwards.
