In my family, sometimes spanking was delegated to the father whether it be my own or one of my uncles. It was mom/my aunts who tended to spank individually and mostly privately. If multiple children were to be spanked it was youngest to oldest, over the knee bare bottom hand spanking in the living room once dad/uncle got home after he ate dinner. If you were too tall to fit over the knee you were belted standing up and most of the time with underpants on but it was rare to happen to a big kid. Nobody got spanked after age 15 in my family that I'm aware of.
