I don't think parents ever enjoyed spanking their own kids in the strict sense of the word, like getting kicks out of it.
Maybe they felt it was their duty to spank their kids for misbehaviour, but it doesn't mean they enjoyed it.

However the same cannot be said for many non-parents like babysitters or others who actually enjoyed spanking and all it involves.
