The 50's and 60's were very different times. So many communities, all with their own accents (south versus the bronx, for example.) each with their own standards, which so varied from rural to city, how can you say because area X didn't use the corner, then those of us saying that in area Z, it was used, we must be lying.

I had hopes once I found this forum, but since it too quickly reduces to finger pointing, and those who make sweeping statements as if all knowing, if not omnipotent, best I go quiet.
