I'm unusual in the context of my family because it all pretty-much stopped when I was 11 (my parents seemed to have come to regard me as a special-needs case, in the "other" direction), whereas for my sister, cousins, and second-cousins it went on/will go on throughout the teen years. And because of my daughter's under-development/probable-autism, the regime is still in place now - she's only an adult in years, not in actuality.
