I know it was rare for girls to be spanked by male non parents and rarely remember this ever happening except for a few exceptions, while it was very common for boys to be spanked by female authority figures.

I think most parents were very uneasy about letting their daughters be spanked by males from outside the family or even put under their care, unlike boys being put under the care of females outside the family.
One example was that babysitters were always girls and women, both for boys and girls and hardly ever knew of boys or men babysitting girls, which shows that men and boys were never trusted alone with young girls and there were probably good and obvious reasons for this.

I would appreciate any other thoughts on this by other posters.
