Yep, it sounds like the yardstick did the trick!

I often reflect that had my biological mom lived longer that she would have had to either increase the length and intensity of her hand spankings or 'upgrade' to an implement of some kind. She would have, I suspect, been resourceful! And my hide would have got its 'just desserts'! Lol

As it happened Daddy's belt was always 'waiting in the wings' and after Momma died Stepmomma Carrie moved in and boy did she ever know how to deliver a spankin'!
